Ian Elwood is Online Editor at Animal Legal Defense Fund. His professional experience is working with media and communications technology to advance animal protection and social justice causes. He has worked for International Rivers, CorpWatch, Media Alliance and other nonprofits, creating and managing tools used for social change.
He was an invited participant in the NetSquared Mashup Contest and won a technology project grant from the Sunlight Foundation.
Ian also volunteers with Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary, helping rescue, find adoptive homes, and provide sanctuary for abused and neglected animals in the California Bay Area and Central Valley. His work includes informing the public about social and economic systems that contribute to the suffering of both domesticated and free-roaming animals.
Ian holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arts & Social Change and a Master’s degree in Media Studies from New College of California.
